Hi all :D
Same as last week's lecture, this week's lecture is also about 'Visual Semiotics'. But, Part.2 is more about "Visual Language".
The visual language is a system of communication using visual elements.
Als0,it's from analogical codes to the official language.
Mr.Choy introduced us Roland Barthes who was interested in language. Roland Barthes, French essayist and social and literary critic whose writings on semiotics, the formal study of symbols and signs pioneered by Ferdinand de Saussure, helped establish structuralism and the New Criticism as leading intellectual movements.
KEYWORDS :
-structuralism
-social theory
And, he also explained about visual language in advertisement.
The purpose of the advertisement to communicate the positive qualities of the product as clearly as possible to the chosen audience and, this is demonstrated by Frank Jefkins’ three basic principles of effective advertisement writing.
"Word + Image = simple but effective advertising"
Here are some examples of advertisement which is very effective.
