Hi all :D
I'm back with my new subject called 'contextual studies'! Since we had public holiday on week 1 and we missed out week 2 due to the miscommunication between lecturers, we only got to have first class on week 3 :(
So, in the first class of CTX, Mr.Charles briefly explained about what CTX is about and our coming assignment 1.
CTX is basically about studying meaning behind the movie or art or anything (sounds so difficult haha) and we are learning observation&comparison through this module.
Also, for our assignment 1 which is essay, we are to study about several art movements such as surrealism, dadaism, modernism and expressionism etc. Then, we choose any genre of favourite movie which has strong influence from one of the art movements.
So, after I studied each art movement, I chose 'expressionism' because I think it's most suitable to this movie among other art movements and mostly movie nowadays are related to expressionism.
Here is a site which well-explained about Expressionism! :
Yay It's time to introduce my chosen favourite movie :D

Tomorrow I Will Date With Yesterday's You (ぼくは明日、昨日のきみとデートする)
I watched this movie during semester break, and impressions from the movie still lingers in my mind. So, I decided to use this movie for my essay assignment and Ms. Fu helped me a lot for the essay ideas!
Long long description about movie :
On February 15, 20-year-old Takatoshi Minamiyama, a visual arts undergraduate and satirist in Kyoto, falls in love at first sight with Emi Fukuju while boarding a train for college. After awkwardly introducing each other, the two promise to meet again in the following days.Takatoshi finds Emi to be strange, being able to predict things that would happen to him, with the tendency to cry whenever he does something nice to her. She also never wants to spend time with him after midnight. After the two consummate their relationship on March 1, Takatoshi discovers Emi's journal that she purposefully left on the table. Much to his confusion, Emi wrote them as if she races through time backwards. The next day, Emi reveals that she is a being from a world in which time runs backwards; what humans perceive as the future she already experienced as her past, and vice versa. Emi has been watching Takatoshi from afar since he was young; she was the adult woman who rescued him from drowning at the age of 5. Because her memories of him fade as time goes on (and her time goes backwards), she keeps a journal to remind her of him. She also tells him that they can only be together for a month every five years, and because 20 is the only time their age matches, the current month is the last time where they can pursue a relationship.
Yeahh It's about time leap and really really sad story :( I cried a lot while watching this movie. Anyway, I'll rewatch it since memories of this movie a bit faded already. I can't wait to watch it again!
I will stop by here and will be back with some progress of assignment 1 :) BYE BYE
