Hi all :D
Last week, after the lecture for basic instructions about manual setting, Mr. Martin gave us an exercise about exposure settings. we were to take 3 sets of indoor, outdoor and between indoor and outdoor B&W photos. Each set has 3 photos : over-exposure, proper exposure and under-exposure. Mr.Martin asked us to fix shutter speed not below then 100 and also he recommended to set ISO as 100 for outdoor photo and 400 for indoor photo.
<Little Note From the Lecture>
-If ISO is higher, the photo will be brighter
-If ISO is lower, the photo will be darker
-If F is higher, the photo will be darker
-If F is lower, the photo will be brighter
-If shutter speed is faster, the photo will be darker
-If shutter speed is slower, the photo will be brighter
So, here are my exercises about manual setting! take a look at them :D
*Click the photo to see details about setting please!
1. INDOOR
I took this photo at the admission office. I was trying to find the place that doesn't have outdoor lights for accuracy. So, I decided to take this part at admission office.
2. OUTDOOR
This is a view of Taylor's University from U-Residence building. It was really bright sunny day when I took those photos so it was not that easy to control the exposures.
3. BETWEEN INDOOR + OUTDOOR
This is photo of platform at SS15 station. It's indoor but still can see the outside view and it has light from outdoor too. So, I took it as between indoor+outdoor photo!
Overall, I really enjoyed this exercise because I felt like I'm a professional photographer (of course I'm not hehe) as I change the settings for each different condition :) At first, I was a bit clumsy at controlling ISO, aperture(F) and shutter speed. However, the more I took, the more I could understand how to change settings for certain levels of lighting. I hope I could improve myself from this exercise and I can't wait for the coming exercises!!
